Graphic designer, creative collaborator and design consultant, Elissa Von Letkemann works on print and digital design projects for clients around the world.

For over two decades, Elissa’s wide-ranging expertise has flourished in the arts, culinary, home, and nonprofit sectors, leading to unique solutions that define her clients’ messaging and connect them with their audiences in a meaningful and memorable way.

The inspired thinking and emotional connection that Elissa brings to her projects is gathered through not only the depth of her research but also engagement of her senses. Immersed in the arts from a young age, Elissa finds the spark of inspiration close to her studio in the historic towns of Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and further afield in New York City, Chicago, France, Iceland, Italy, the Netherlands, and Sweden where she has studied, worked and lived.

Prior to beginning her eponymous business, she served as graphic designer at the acclaimed gourmet food purveyor Stonewall Kitchen in York, Maine. There she created a wide range of specialty packaging for their signature collection as well as private label products for collaborations with leading brands such as Ina Garten’s Barefoot Contessa Pantry and L.L. Bean. This in-house experience proved invaluable, as it was here that she was exposed to and began to master the full spectrum of packaging design from concept and product development to photography, layout and press approvals.

She began her professional design career as a designer at leading research and advisory firm AMR Research in Boston, Massachusetts, honing her production skills, and later at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts, where she revelled in and excelled at the research aspect of designing marketing campaigns for major international art exhibitions such as Fabergé Revealed, California Design, 1930-1965: Living in a Modern Way and Future Beauty: Avant-Garde Japanese Fashion, among others.

As an adjunct professor of graphic design, Elissa regularly brings her design expertise into the classroom, teaching for over a decade and developing design curriculum at Lesley University College of Art and Design in Cambridge, Massachusetts, McIntosh College in Dover, New Hampshire, The New England School of Art and Design at Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts, and currently at The University of New Hampshire’s College of Liberal Arts.

She also maintains a vibrant studio art practice. Exploring techniques as varied as digital hand drawn illustration and the Japanese craft of shibori, Elissa’s artwork is regularly exhibited in galleries, cafés and arts markets, and is part of private collections around the country.

Elissa studied at Studio Arts Centers International, Florence, Italy, and received a post-baccalaureate certificate in Public Relations from New York University. She graduated with a master of fine arts from Boston University and a bachelor of arts from the University of New Hampshire.
